This 49 minute long podcast entitled “The Stupidest Thing You Can Do
With Your Money” is about investing. I chose this podcast because I have
listened to “Freakonomics” on NPR before and I am interested in investing.
Essentially, the “stupid thing” has to do with active managers or financial
advisers who charge fees to manage investments for people. No one knows what
the Dow or stock market will do, so it is pointless and a waste of money to pay
someone to manage and select investments. If everyone utilized low-cost
indexing, or if everyone invested in the same areas, how would that benefit
people? This was an interesting podcast about investments and worth a listen.
This blog is part of an assignment from American Military
University for my "Web 2.0 Fundamentals" class where I am to listen
to and then summarize 3 different podcasts.
